Then forgotten? Do they never look back?
Will they remember my markings as they walk other roads?
Be homesick for the places they've passed
Am I little more than waypoint on their journey?
Not their first and not to be their last.
Will they mention my location to others they meet?
As a guide on the journeys they face
Will they remember my markings and describe thoughtfully?
Or will the significance of my presence be displaced?
