Refraining
I watch the words as they fall from my fingertips
Bouncing not on to the keyboard
Sliding not down a pen
Never quite reaching the medium
Thrown aside or caged
Locked away or sentenced to death
Each informant letter
Every untrustworthy syllable
Words, phrases, sentences, stanzas
Could all reveal too much.
